Promoting Continuous Learning in Joint Surgery: The Evolution of VideoACCART

With great enthusiasm, we present the third edition of VideoACCART, a journal dedicated to sharing knowledge and experiences through high-quality surgical videos. On this occasion, we reflect on the growing importance of research and teaching in the medical field, and how digital technologies are transforming our way of learning and sharing knowledge.

The world of research is oriented towards the publication of works that generate useful information to make informed decisions, always with the well-being of our patients as the central objective. However, in the current landscape, we face serious threats, such as the proliferation of superficial works whose conclusions do not pass rigorous statistical analysis and which can lead to inappropriate medical practices, often driven by personal interests. Added to this is the existence of publications that prioritize quantity over quality, accepting material without due scientific rigor.

In this context, we reaffirm our commitment to excellence. VideoACCART positions itself as a journal that not only refuses to be part of that group of publications without solid standards, but also strives to maintain the highest quality in each edition. This commitment has been supported by the international academic community, whose most prominent exponents have shared innovative surgical techniques and daily practices through our pages.

VideoACCART's unwavering goal is to document and share meaningful experiences, capturing key moments of surgical procedures to analyze them, learn from them and perfect our techniques. In this digital age, we have powerful tools that allow us to access vast amounts of information, collaborate with colleagues around the world, and develop new skills. The surgical videos we present in this magazine are a tangible example of how technology can enrich medical education and improve clinical practice.

We make a special call to our main audience: the Latin American community, a region with extraordinary potential and much to contribute. We invite professionals to publish their surgical videos on VideoACCART and submit their work to the invaluable peer review process. This exercise not only raises the quality of our professional work, but also promotes learning, strengthens the sense of belonging in our institutions and promotes the development of our students.

In this edition, we have carefully selected a series of videos that reflect the diversity and high level of contemporary surgery. Behind each of them is hard work by the authors to showcase the best of their practice, along with the meticulous efforts of our editorial team to ensure that the content reaches an exceptional level. We are proud to affirm that this magazine will continue to grow in robustness and demand, consolidating itself as a valid and attractive option for leaders in our area.

Thank you for joining us on this path of learning and excellence.
